ABOUT TEACHING IN MYANMAR

Participants in the Myanmar program can choose between a 120-hour internationally accredited in-class TESOL course or a fully online TESOL certification. The in-class option takes place in Yangon, just minutes from the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda. Regardless of whether you complete your TESOL training online or in person, all Teach Myanmar participants will join a comprehensive, week-long cultural orientation in Yangon to prepare for life and teaching in the country.

Key Facts

120-hour in Class TESOL

TEFL Freedom offers an 120-hour internationally accredited in-class, or online TESOL certification course. The in-class course is held in Yangon, Myanmar, a stone’s throw from the world famous, majestic Shwedagon Pagoda.

Eligibility

Applicants need to be between the ages of 20 and 55.
Applicants need to have sufficient funds to pay for the program fees and other associated costs of the program as well as cover the cost of personal living expense including entertainment.

Investment

Full tuition for the 4-week TESOL program is $1850-$1925 depending if you have a degree or not, including training materials and certificate. Monthly start dates are available. Additional costs include accommodation, meals, and personal expenses.

What you will learn

The 120-hour TESOL program covers teaching methodology, lesson planning, classroom management, phonology, grammar awareness, and observed teaching practice with real learners.

Accommodation

Agent will assist in finding accommodation but teachers pay their own rent. In many local living accommodations, there will be limited internet access, and likely no air-conditioning. There is also few to no ATMs in most places. However, while the living conditions might be rustic, Myanmar is a very safe place to live and work with very little crime.

Accreditation

The TESOL certificate is fully accredited and recognized globally by UK Ofqual allowing graduates to teach English internationally.

Hands-on Pre-departure Support

Receive one-on-one support for obtaining and processing all necessary paperwork for interviews, visas, and work permits. Interviews are set up before you leave your country, so you know which school you will be placed at before your fly.
