Top Up or Hybrid Schedule
During the 140/150-hour course you study the same modules as the standard, onsite, 4-week TEFL program. You complete the first half of the course through guided self-study, and assessments and practicals are included by Zoom with your TEFL Trainer. For the second half, you complete your course onsite at one of the chosen locations in Cambodia, Guatemala, or Peru.
Once onsite you’ll be given detailed feedback from your trainers with which to improve and grow. These training practicums are with non-native English speaking students at local schools, NGOs or businesses.
In those 2 weeks onsite, you’ll also be putting into practice everything you’ve been taught by taking you into a real classroom environment with an observed teaching practicum.
Class times are generally 9am to 4pm, but may vary depending on the teaching practices and other unforeseen factors.
Additional work such as resourcing and lesson planning will need to be done after hours, either as teamwork or individually.
