ABOUT TEACHING IN ITALY

Most English teaching jobs in Italy follow the academic year, running from September or October until May or June. Additional short-term work is available in June and July through summer camps.

The main hiring period starts around February or March, when schools confirm their staffing needs for the upcoming year.

To work legally as an English teacher in Italy, you must hold an EU passport or already have the right to work in the European Union, as schools rarely sponsor visas for non-EU citizens.

 An integral part of our Italy TEFL course is the time we devote to job guidance and TEFL jobs.
TEFL jobs vary by location, salary, benefits and expectations. Many are to be found in private language schools, while others may be part of the country’s educational system. There is no guarantee of Job Placment unless you have a right to work in EU.

Investment

Full tuition for the 4-week Italy program is $1595,00 including training materials and certificate. Monthly start dates are available. Additional costs include accommodation, meals, and personal expenses.

What you will learn

Throughout the course, students have class observations, lesson-planning, and teaching practice commitments, along with pedagogy, language teaching materials, the assessment of language learners, grammar,  phonology & teaching skills, plus six hours of observing experienced teachers.

Pre-departure Support

There is a pre-course TEFL packet that students may complete before the course begins.  Students will. receive these lessons and exercises before the start date, along with a suggested TEFL reading list.

Competitive Salary and Benefits

TEFL teachers in Italy typically earn €12–€20 per hour in language schools, with monthly income usually ranging from €900–€1,400, depending on hours. These salaries cover basic living costs but rarely allow for significant savings. Benefits such as housing or airfare are not usually provided, and teachers need to have an EU passport or legal right to work in the EU.
