If you’re considering taking a TEFL course in the Czech Republic, we highly recommend speaking with one of our advisors first. To secure your preferred dates and accommodation options, it’s best to enrol in your TEFL course in the Czech Republic as early as possible.
The cost of living will vary depending on the kind of lifestyle you want to live and other factors such as what part of Prague you would like to live in. However, it is possible to live quite comfortable on a teacher’s salary. You can expect to earn between 300 and 450 CZK per teaching hour. A typical teaching week is 20 – 22 hours, but you can teach more. So expect 30,000 to 39,000 CZK/month. Average living costs are very low in comparison to GBP Euros and US Dollars.
TEFL Freedom offers an in-country 4-week, 120-hour TESOL training program in Prague. Eligibility includes minimum age 24-50 degree requirements are required for Czech Replublic, English proficiency, background check clearance, and suitability for new or experienced teachers. Full tuition for the 4-week Czech Replublic program is $1550 and you initially pay $515 deposit. Pay the remaining amount 1 month before departure. This is a partner program and the job is guaranteed by them not TEFL Freedom.
The 120-hour TESOL program covers teaching methodology, lesson planning, classroom management, phonology, grammar awareness, and observed teaching practice with real learners. Courses begin every 5 weeks.
Most people initial use our short term accommodation for the month of the course. If they plan to stay in Prague after the course they will then look for long-term accommodation once they are here in Prague.
Accredited and moderated by IATQuO (The International Accreditation of TESOL Qualifying Organizations) and the Czech Ministry of Education.
Our TEFL course is partnered with SPEVACEK, a major private language school in Prague. All graduates with Pass 1 or Pass 2 scores (altogether 80% of all our graduates) will receive a full time job offer teaching English with SPEVACEK language school. The job guarantee applies to all successfull graduates regardless of their age, nationality or experience. Provided you can get a visa for Czech Replublic.
For English teachers in the Czech Republic, hourly pay typically averages around CZK 310, which is approximately US $15 per hour. Depending on experience and specific role, the pay can range from CZK 161 to CZK 350 per hour, equivalent to about US $8 to $17 per hour. This provides a competitive rate for teachers looking to work in the Czech Republic while gaining international teaching experience.
